History
Gavin has a musical background, he played the Clarinet at the age of 8 then he learned to play the Guitar and started writing songs, he also played Clarinet in the school orchestra and sang in the school Chamber Choir. At the age of 16 he had drum lessons and played for quite a few bands. In 2005 Gavin decided to do a Charity Concert for the Birmingham Children's Hospital. Gavin chose to do a Big Band Concert at the Crescent Theatre in Birmingham. He sang some Sinatra classics with the Steve King Big Band. Gavin also sang a few songs with a smaller Band. The concert was a success and raised £2,134. Gavin asked Steve if he knew of a band that needed a singer, he said no but that Gavin could practice with a rehearsal band he worked with (Thanks Steve). During the practice sessions Gavin was given Brian Newton's Phone number. Soon after Gavin started singing with the Brian Newton Big Band, Gavin learned a lot singing with Brian's Band and started to develop his own style of singing. Gavin then started singing with the Four Oaks Big Band.
